The Front Festival is an end-of-summer community festival, featuring independent music, film and art in Austin, Texas. Curated by Future Front, we put Texas women and LGBTQ+ artists at the front of our lineups. Everybody welcome.

This year’s lineup will be announced July 2026.

2026 SCHEDULE

August 27 ★The Front Festival: Opening Night Swim

Join us at sunset for opening night of The Front Festival 2026, featuring a Swim Session with DJ Ed West of Neon Rainbows. Doors at 7 PM.

August 28 ★ The Front Festival: Independent Music Night

Hot, Texas music. Join us at Swan Dive in the Red River Cultural District for special talks and live sets from independent musicians and recording artists, marking ten years of The Front Festival.

August 29 ★ The Front Festival: Independent Film Night

Hot, Texas films. Meet us under the stars and by the lake for a curated selection of 12 independent films by women and LGBTQ+ directors and writers in Texas, plus community panels and performances with The Contemporary Austin. Doors at 7 PM.

August 30 ★ The Front Festival: Closing Pool Party

Close out The Front Festival with one final Swim Session for 2026, featuring DJs Riobamba and BAD APPLE. Doors at noon.

2026 PASSES

One-day passes* for the Music Showcase are $20 to $40. Weekend passes* for the entire festival are $55 to $100 and include access to both the Music and Film Showcases, as well as opening and closing pool parties.

All ticket sales support Future Front’s programs, which have distributed $1M in creative commissions and honorariums over the last decade.

*All passes are free for Future Front members.
